С 21 февраля по 1 марта 2020 года пройдет XV Международный театральный фестиваль VIE. Спектакли фестивальной программы будут показаны в Модене, Болонье, Чезене, Карпи и Спиламберто.
В 2020 году на фестивале будут представлены двенадцать спектаклей молодых и всемирно известных итальянских и зарубежных режиссеров. Среди них — «Архитектура» Паскаля Рамбера, премьера которого прошла на Авиньонском фестивале в 2019 году. Это высказывание о сложностях взаимопонимания в большой семье европейских народов. Франк Касторф, один из знаковых режиссеров немецкого театра, будет представлен в программе «Баязетом». В этом спектакле режиссер сталкивает классический текст Жана Расина со знаменитым эссе Антонена Арто «Театр и чума» из книги «Театра и его Двойник». Режиссер из Хорватии Ангела Рихтер представит «Антигону», переосмысленную словенским философом Славоем Жижеком. Он предлагает три возможных конца трагедии, оставляя зрителям свободу решать судьбу современной Антигоны. Компания FC Bergman (Бельгия, Нидерланды) покажет грандиозный визуальный проект театральной компании «Земля Нод».
В период проведения фестиваля VIE также состоится III Научная конференция Европейской ассоциации по изучению театра и перформанса. Ее темой станет «Творчество на сцене и в других пространствах». Организаторы поясняют выбор темы: «В XX веке произошли кардинальные изменения в театральном творчестве, которые в крайних случаях привели к отрицанию самого театра. В то время как мы пытаемся обсудить это наследие, два десятилетия спустя в XXI веке происходят дальнейшие преобразования и изменения, требующие новых теоретических языков, которые принимают прошлое в качестве необходимой матрицы для изучения настоящего и будущего».

Eleven songs written by philosophers from ten European countries and performed by young artists, in front of a jury of thinkers who argue to elect the best. Since 2013, Carboni and Da Costa work through co-creation. The Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek comes to dramaturgy re-imagining the history of Antigone within today’s Europe system. Žižek proposes three possible ends to the tragedy, leaving the audience free to decide the fate of a contemporary Antigone.

The new production by Chilean playwright and director Guillermo Calderón is a reflection on the value of art in modern times, in times of fake news and disturbed power relations. Calderón calls into question the position of the arts and their responsibility within a political context.
